Every build starts with the site and the horses. Timber field shelters from Slievecrafts are configured individually, with dimensions, orientation, and layout all determined by your specific requirements before a single board is cut.
The number of horses, their size, and how the shelter sits within your paddock or field all shape the final design. Open-fronted run-in shelters, divided bays, integrated hay storage, and separate tack areas are all options discussed and agreed at the planning stage.
Nothing is left to chance before construction begins. Roof pitch, entrance width, internal headroom, and ground fixings are all specified upfront, so the structure that arrives on your land is suited to the animals from day one.
Materials and Construction
Timber for every shelter we build is supplied through our sister company, Tipp Top Tree Surgery — high-grade, sustainably sourced, and fully traceable from origin through to the finished structure. We know exactly what goes into every field shelter for horses we make.
Treatments and construction methods are chosen with Irish ground and weather conditions in mind. These are substantial, handcrafted structures built in our Templemore workshop, built to stay put, stay sound, and do the job properly across many seasons of use.
